The Code of Ethics and Conduct is a collection of ethical and professional requirements that are based on the identity of Caritas Ukraine and apply throughout the network

Code of Ethics and Conduct

Identity, values and principles of Caritas Ukraine

The Code reflects the identity, mission, values and principles of Caritas Ukraine, as well as the humanitarian standards and principles that serve as guidelines for all staff of the network. Therefore, the document defines the most important rules of ethics and conduct, which are divided into categories for convenience:

  • general rules of ethics and conduct;
  • work routines and discipline;
  • relationships with colleagues;
  • relationships with people in need (beneficiaries);
  • relationships with affiliated persons;
  • protection of property and exercise of control;
  • reputation, public statements and political activities;
  • personal conduct.

The Code of Ethics and Conduct reaffirms the obligation of all personnel and affiliates to familiarize themselves with all policies and procedures of the Security system, as well as to strictly comply with their requirements.

Of course, the Code cannot disclose and anticipate all potential situations that an employee or volunteer of the network may encounter in their work. Therefore, it is worth adhering not only to the formal rules, but also to the spirit and context that was laid down in this document. It is important to use your own judgment and common sense in each individual situation, seek advice from colleagues and clarify the expectations of management. And in all cases where suspicions of a certain violation arise, report them through feedback channels.
