Anti-Human Trafficking Policy
The Anti-Human Trafficking Policy is a document that defines Caritas Ukraine’s policy on combating all forms of human trafficking and exploitation.
Human trafficking means the execution of an illegal agreement, the object of which is a person, as well as the recruitment, transfer, harboring, transportation, or receipt of a person, committed for the purpose of exploitation, including sexual exploitation, using deception, fraud, blackmail, a person’s vulnerable state, or with the application or threat of violence, using official position or material or other dependence on another person, which are recognized as a crime according to the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Law of Ukraine dated 20.09.2011 № 3739-VI «On Counteracting Human Trafficking», Art. 1).
Caritas Ukraine adheres to the principle of zero tolerance for human trafficking and prohibits the use of any forms of human trafficking or forced labor in the network’s work, including by our partners and contractors (affiliated persons).
The Anti-Human Trafficking Policy defines:
- general provisions, scope, and key terms;
- requirements regarding the prohibition of human trafficking;
- obligations of personnel and affiliated persons to prevent and counteract all forms of human trafficking;
- measures applied within the Caritas Ukraine network to prevent and counteract human trafficking;
- a mechanism for reporting potential cases of policy violation;
- principles of non-discrimination and whistleblower protection;
- rules regarding responsibility for compliance with the policy, as well as for its violation;
- requirements regarding information protection and confidentiality.
